From The Chief

On behalf of all our members and myself, thank you very much for visiting our Website and for your interest in our Combination Fire-ALS-Rescue Department in unincorporated Boulder County, CO.

Our Web Master and members work very hard to keep our Website updated with our efforts to inform and serve our citizens and other friends in the fire service.  In these difficult and changing economic times, we work to be efficient and cost conscious while providing the highest level of service to those we serve.  Within these constraints, we strive to be professional and progressive to better meet the needs of our customers.  We greatly appreciate your support and friendship and I look forward to any comments and suggestions on how we might improve our Website and our service to you.

Many thanks,

Bruce Mygatt, Fire Chief

Change your clock, change your smoke alarm batteries
Smoke alarms let us know that there may be a fire in our home and that we must get out quickly!
Boulder Rural Fire Department wants to remind everyone how important it is to have working smoke alarms on every level of your home. Remember when you change your clocks to change your smoke alarm batteries, every six months.  Smoke alarms that have been pulled off the wall or have had batteries removed won't do you any good when you really need them!

A Public Safety Message from the Boulder County Sheriff's Communications Center

Help Keep 911 Lines Open! Every day more than 75 to 100 911 calls are received by the Boulder County Sheriff's Communications Dispatch Center from accidentally activated cell phones. On your belt or in your purse, the keypad on your cell phone can be pressed and cause another unintended call to 911. Cell phones with a single key programmed to dial 911 can be unintentionally activated. Lock the keypad on your cell phone and prevent this disruption of the life saving 911 service. Help keep the 911 lines open for real emergencies!
