Bruce Mygatt
Fire Chief
Chief Mygatt has been the Fire Chief at Boulder Rural Fire Protection District since 1996. He has spent his entire fire service career with Boulder Rural starting as a volunteer firefighter in 1972. During his volunteer career he was instrumental in creating the Department's initial Training Division, held the position of Training Chief, and worked his way up through the officer ranks and served as the Volunteer Fire Chief. In 1996 he became the first career employee of the District on its way to becoming a combination department.

Chief Mygatt is a past president of the Boulder County Firefighters Association, was very active in establishing the new Boulder County Fire Chiefs Association, modeled after Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association, and is the President of the Boulder County Regional Fire Training Centers. He is also a member of the Colorado State Fire Chief Association Executive Board, the group leader of the CSFCA-Combination Section, a member of the Metro Chief's Section, a Board Member of the Colorado Emergency Services Association, and a founding member of the Colorado Fire Chaplains Association.

Bruce has a Bachelor's Degree from Montana State University and maintains his Fire Officer III certification from the State of Colorado. He has lived with his wife, Karen, in Boulder since 1967 close to their two sons, two nice daughters-in-law and three wonderful grandchildren.
Jeff Webb
Fire Marshal
Administrative Chief and Fire Marshal Jeff Webb joined the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District as a volunteer in 1992. He served three years as a Lieutenant, two years as a Captain, and one year as a Battalion Chief before being appointed as volunteer Assistant Fire Chief in 2000. In 2001 he was selected from 36 candidates to be the Department's career Assistant Fire Chief.  Before joining Boulder Rural, Chief Webb earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in Laser Physics.

Jeff currently is the department's Fire Marshal, concentrating his efforts on Fire Prevention and Education, as well as working to further our efforts in Code Inspections and Enforcement.  He also serves on the Boulder County Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team and is an on-call commander for the Emergency Operations Center in large emergencies or natural disasters.  As Administrative Chief, he is responsible for the department's information technology, budgeting, human resources, policy & procedure, and is involved in apparatus design.
