Rescue

Rescue is a broad category. It demands that although we always hope for the best, we prepare for the worst. Simply put, it is what we do to get people out of a bad situation. It includes high and low angle rope rescues, swift water, confined spaces, entrapments and any other less than desirable situations that can occur. The most common rescue we perform at BRFD is the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA). Most MVA rescues are able to be preformed by our responders without the need for tools, but when occupants are trapped or entangled, BRFD is able to access them with our extrication equipment, commonly referred to as the ‘Jaws of Life’. This equipment is capable of dismantling a vehicle from around entrapped victim(s). We ask that you help keep all of our rescue equipment for training purposes only and be safe!
